What Doesnt kill you make you stronger

"What doesn't kill you makes a fighter
Footsteps even lighter
Doesn't mean I'm over 'cause you're gone" (Singing).

I will allow you to Cue this song and maybe dance to it after reading this article.its a song by Kelly Clarkson simply passing the message that What doesn't kill you make you stronger and i want to make it clear that the message isn't only for the 'failed' lovers,it applies to any form of life and circumstances.
I have always stood up for the opinion that "Say that to a dumb or a tetraplegic.". I was for the idea that what doesn't kill us make us weaker and weaker, I was right consoling myself that being weak is right and a way of life, till i give it a positive thought on how much we can learn from our failure and recycle them to clinch our success

What should you tell yourself after a failure..I have compiled 5 inspiration thoughts from great thinkers that will leave you encouraged and give you power to move on.

I have not failed. I have just found a 1000 ways that wont work -Thomas A Edison
When Edison was working on his storage battery invention, Someone said to him that he had failed ten thousand times.Unlike you and me who want to believe we have failed,Edison had a say on this "i have not failed" i have just found a thousand ways that wont work" He responded.
He admitted that path to his achievement was tough but he said he achieved his success through countless failures

Fall seven times, stand up Eight -Japanese Proverb
"Nanakorobi yaoki" That's how you say it in Japanese. We all start  crawling in life, before taking any step, we have to stand. The first time we fall down only come after we stood up.That's enough prove that you can stand up again and even take a step forward.when we fail, there is hope that we can still get back up. It might look slim, but never give it up

Our greatest glory consist not in never failing, But in rising after fall -Ralph Waldo Emerson
It is not so easy to get up when we are down, but we got to put on a positive gear focusing more on future than the past. Past is gone, present is what we have to get ourselves better and better for tomorrow. The next adventure awaits us

Remember that failure is an event, not a person - Zig Ziglar
The best explanation i got for this Zig thought is that success is the doing, Not the getting; In the trying, not the triumph. It is a personal standard, reaching the highest point that we can and overcoming all the hindrances that stop us from getting there.Events are not permanent, they come and go.

Failure is success if we learn from it.- Malcolm Forbes
There is always something we can learn from our past. Things to do and what not to. It is always good to look back and realize what made us fail. Then you can avoid it next time as you take your next lift.

Am not trying to  justify failure. But rising up after you fail is the first step to success.Embrace failure to start up success.they say if you haven't failed, you haven't tried. We are living an Era where we cannot always get everything right, no matter how much smart we are all, or how good we are in planning.Getting stuck is part of us and its time we compose ourselves and push hard to our goals.

Finally, This is what keep me motivated

Will Smith life got flip turned upside down when he owed the IRS $2.8 million in taxes in 1989

Vincent Van Gogh only sold one painting out 900 in his life

Lady Gaga got dropped by a major record label after only three months

Michael Jordan was rejected from high school varsity basketball team

Winston Churchill lost his first campaign for a parliament

And closer home, kevin Bahati was raised up in a children's home

My first article had a reach of 2 people and zero comments

Who are you to give up?
“if I become complacent and don’t take risks, someone will notice what I am doing and improve upon my efforts over time, and put me out of work. You’ve got to keep finding better ways to run your life, or someone will take what you’ve accomplished, improve upon it, and be very pleased with the results. Help me better what I offer you.

My apologies to my TellMeKenya readers. It has been a jam packed month for me filled with lots of office work and my personal life. It was also filled with lots of learning new skills, networking, re-energizing and meeting new friends (virtual and real). Am proud to say that I was part of the successful Banking & mobile money conference organized by AITEC where I met different minds sharing different ideas which is such a privilege to me. All in all, I didn’t forget my audience. I had time to think about you and where I want to go with this small blog of mine. (TellMeKenya)
I posed a question to myself on what is the use of my blog which in the process of answering raised a lot of questions for me and blogging.
What will my Blog be about?
Do I want to appeal to others with my blog or just keep my blog journal?
Do I have an audience and if not, how can I get them on board
What are the objectives of the blog?
Do I have time for blogging?
One James Keru, My mentor in blogging will tell you these are the same question any blogger should ask him/herself before trying the waters.
As I think and make a decision on the above questions, I would love it and would be so grateful if you had the time to send me an email at kelvoalfa80@yahoo.com or leave a comment telling me what you’d like to see more of on the blog. Here are a few questions to help and give you an idea of what’s on my mind.
Would you like me to continue with my blog? (Note; no won’t help because I don’t quit but if you must say no or yes, give a reason unto why)
Would you like me to write on a specific subject or stick to my spread lines of stories?
Do you want tips, ideas on filmmaker and scripting or anything like that or do you get enough of that in other blogs you follow?
What sort or posts would you like to see more of – funny, serious, inspirational, raw, and helpful?
Would you be interested in me posting links to articles I write for other publications?
Why do you read my blog? What keeps you coming back? How could I improve? Do you think the blog itself is hard or easy to navigate and is it a reflection of me? Does the layout, colours and style need to be altered?
This gives you an idea of what’s been swirling around in my brain over the past few days. To be honest I’d like to grow this blog, connect with more people, but most importantly I want to deliver to you more of what you want. Help me better what I offer you. I know everyone’s busy, but if you do find some few minutes to spare, please send me some feedback

Hell Hath No Fury Like a Nyeri Woman Scorned

Over the weekend, during a misguided (read through) on Facebook updates, I found myself thinking around this update from one of my friends, “yea yea am a Nyerian n proud of it .And yes you should be scared. Its true wat u have heard about us” its basic knowledge that she was referring to the infamous stories of Nyeri women battling men.

Naturally that led me on web searching tangent, as I did a simple search on history of women beating men. Surprisingly according to Google search engine optimization, SEO, they also make it look complicated and out of norm since the first articles I found showed women as victims of battering not men. But on my continuous follow up, I came to learn Abraham Lincoln was a victim of domestic violence and 10 more famous men who were beaten down by their women. That steered my guts to find out why a man should lose a fight to a woman.

Of course most friends know me by my “silly and fun” stories, but Am not doing this to cause a comic feeling. I’m not looking to mock Nyeri women or domestic violence against men, also no one should mistake me as a male chauvinist, I’m just looking on this fascinating subject  because am a society man…and if some differences will arise and spring up this matter, well, I’m all ready to laugh at your feedback.
Beat versus Batter
To beat up a man is to use your two fists to beat him into submission. To a woman beating someone up essentially means use whatever is at your disposal to destroy somebody. Women will always pick up whatever they find on their way to and throw it to you. Be it a knife, pot or television set. Men find this kind of style weak and dishonorable in a fight.
We should all get this right, a woman using this kind of style to beat a man shouldn’t be figured a fight where the woman win but a tantrum at best. For those with doubts, I recommend you to watch catfights on YouTube, and then it will sink on you.
Genetically
Scientifically, humans present sexual dimorphism, where males are stronger, taller, faster (and probably more intelligent which to avoid controversy in this case I choose to ignore it for this case) it has been summarized that men are 50-60% stronger in average, thus stronger than a stronger woman. So basically, it turns almost impossible for the majority of women to beat men (in a fair fight)

 Men don’t cry
I know many of you, like me, grew up around this phrase, call it cliche if you want, but its one unwritten rule that all men should value. Men are supposed to be bastions of stability; the rock in the middle of a storm; unflappably cool no matter what the circumstance. So in a case of a battered “man” (quoted because I still believe it isn’t possible)the neighborhood not even the world  should have a hint of such a happening.
Why am I even trying to tell the known? Shouldn’t I just say, fights are unacceptable, and if they have to be, with all due respect, men shouldn’t turn the victim For them who are being battered (note I have replaced the word ‘men’ with ‘those’), I wouldn’t mind to share few reasons why it’s happening to you

  •  You are a real addicted drunkard “Man”.
  • You are married to one old old woman (maybe she is trying to discipline you like any other any elder).
  •  Financially, she is stable than you.
  • She is the run your home (breadwinner).
  • You are one hopeless and jobless man.
  •   You are married to your fellow man if not a wrong woman.

To all men, can you man up! To you being battered, can you keep it to yourself if you can’t do anything to about it. I read it somewhere that when it reaches the worst for a man, clench your teeth as tight as you can, apply some brain freeze maneuver to whatever pain inflicting situation you are in and feign amnesia like it is not happening, then soldier on like the man you are!
Elisabeth Elliott, one of the most influential Christian women writers of “my” time once said “Stand true to your calling to be a man. Real women will always be relieved and grateful when men are willing to be men.”
I pen down believing a man, a gentleman if you want, when it comes to physical fight with against the heaviest and strongest woman, he can throw the towel. Am sure reactions, views and comments are already running through you mind, but this is my stand. It’s time to air yours.
